Where did the day go…?

My day started at 1pm, while I am not proud of this I do have a valid excuse, so I’m okay with it. I decided to take my sister for dipped ice cream as this is something I have really craved from the other side. My step mom (Jean) suggested I take the car, and since I have been driving an automatic car on the right side of the road for 2 years now I decided this practice would not be such a bad idea, since I as D.D (designated driver) once Tyler and Tamara arrive.

I climbed in the car and soon realized that I could not put the car in reverse…don’t judge! In manual cars every car has a different place/way to “activate” the gear. The cars parking space is parked ridiculously close to the garage and I am not ready for that kind of responsibility.

I declared that we should take a walk to the bank (to exchange $ for Rands) then to Steers for yummy ice cream. Luckily the walk wasn’t too long, and the day not too hot. Unfortunately once we arrived at the bank and I found out what hoops I would have to jump through in order to exchange money. I realized that I didn’t a few required documents (proof of residential address or an affidavit of support) and therefore no way to change my money. Big sister fail! Long walk home (okay not too long) no ice cream and no Rands.

Some rand notes

Once Jean and my some of my family returned from various tasks, they decided to do a girl’s trip to LaLucia Mall for last minute shopping. I made a beeline for the Biltong shop (after borrowing some money.) That’s probably when the day started to feel like more of a success! Dinner outside in the open air and swimming underneath the stars tonight once again J
