The title of this post pretty much sums up the first few hours of beginning in South Africa. I got home and sat on the back porch with my family enjoying the surreal feeling of spending time with my family after so long. We were then joined by a few monkeys who entertained us by run across the telephone wires endlessly. I have missed seeing monkeys!
We gathered around the outside table to enjoy a well cooked family meal, and finished off this amazing night with a swim under the stars. My little (7 year old) brother Roïc loves to swim! (We joined forces and enjoyed daily swims.) While my younger sister Riley, now 14 and oh so grown up, prefers to swim at her own leisure without the ceaseless pressure of Roïc.
It was crazy to see how big my siblings are now, they are so much more mature and still so cute! Roïc made the comment, like only a kid can, while I was making a request for my family to copy a bunch of family pictures and send them to me (with a little biltong perhaps) that, “Robyn you are so expensive.” Point taken…
