By now it was pretty late so we decided to head towards Sonora where we were staying for the night. On the way back Nina suddenly turned to me and said pull over, I was really confused but obliged as it sounded important. She jumped out the car, so I followed, and then she said “look!” I looked up to see the blackest sky, with the most sparkling, spectacular starry night. The type of night sky that you just stare at for hours, amazed by the complexity of this simple image. I guess you could say we were “star-struck.” (Lame I know…but true)

Our GPS decided that it was a little lost so after 20mins of driving, stopping and turning we eventually found the route. The road way was very dark, and extremely twisty. It felt like an isolated back road, which made me feel super excited to know we were two girls alone in the car on a deserted road. Then on top of that we had crazy animals that kept jumping into the road, like they had a death wish or something. All in all we saw a mouse, a skunk, a couple of deer, 2 cats (which Nina wouldn’t let me keep) and an animal that I am convinced was a mountain lion!
We made 1000 miles!!! |
Once we got to the hotel it was a quick unpack of Boogie, and straight to bed!
